Mother Nature cooperated beautifully AGAIN and gave Bfish Bobby Outfitters another gorgeous Sunday on the hard water. Flags Flags Flags !!!!.... We fished big baits and the big fish did not disappoint !!.... Great day....Great Friends.....Great Dog....and of course Great Eats and Grog !!!! All fish released as well.
6 inches of Ice. We worked 8 tip ups which caught all the fish....could not get a hit jigging.
Hoping for ONE MORE weekend !!! Great bait from Andover including those baby suckers !!!!! Thanks Garrett !!!

Why are all the bass hanging off a metal stringer then, just curious.

I sure hope you kept them after putting them on the stringer.

makes no sense to puncture the lower jaw and stress the fish out by dangling on a stringer. They are probably floating under the ice now.

Nice fish. It's ok to keep bass but idk what's the point of putting them on a stringer if you release them? seems like that amount of stress kills the fish

Thanks so much for reading my post !!
You hook them through the soft tissue in the top and bottom jaw and hang them in a hole in the ice.....you do not put the stringer clip up in the gill plate. Believe me my friends.... when I say RELEASED it means they swam away.... Further to that... IF we have any doubt....they would be table fare and/or resident Eagle feed.
Try it sometime....It works. Allows for a nice picture at the end of a great day and gives a good feeling knowing someone else will have a chance to do the same through the ice or in the not to distant future when we will have open water. BORN FREE...... :D

Well done again Bobby and crew. You guys have some good times out there. It’s very clear in the pictures. Haha!!! Gotta love ice fishing with a good crew and good eats, especially with the weekend weather cooperating so nicely. Great looking stringer o’ fish guys.
P.S. Putting the fish on a stringer through an icehole is how we keep fish alive for ice contests guys. Chill! It works, it really does! Sheeeeesh!!!:D

nice bucketmouth bonanza. i even saw a nice perch in the mix. i hope you guys kept that one, those fish are outstanding table fare.. one of my favorite fish to target on the hardwater.. you fellas know how to have a good time on the ice . thanks for sharing your photos and your story. the only thing that tainted that stringer was that slime dart not a bad size but i would of put that thing on a different stringer. another outing well done by blackfish bobby outfitters:cool:

Placing fish on a stringer and hanging them in a hole stresses the fish. They may swim away strong, however, their mortality rate will be far greater verse simply releasing them as soon as they are caught. You have to decide how important the picture at the end of the day is worth to you. I'm not going to say you should or shouldn't do it. That's an individual decision and you are doing nothing illegal so its your call. Just realize the fishes mortality rate is effected by placing them on the stringer. Good luck to you!
