Google Capt joe fish galore in Venice. It’s a little north of Cape Coral but well worth the drive. He’s a six pack that runs open boat when he’s not booked. If you want to go on a party boat the sea trek in ft meyers is good. His overnight trips are freezer fillers.

Sea trek, now I believe is doing 30 hr trips. I do their dry tortuga trips and fill the freezer pretty good.
The local day trip party boats are ok if you just want to get out, but don’t expect any great catches. Most will be lane snapper. You’ll get enough for a couple fish tacos.
Best bet is to stick with a day trip on a private boat. Fishing now has been tough, ever since the red tides we’ve had. A large amount of fish were killed.
I wouldn’t eat anything caught inshore. Red fish is catch/release and snook is closed. Don’t eat a single crab either they are still washing up dead.
I haven’t been out in estero bay or it’s surrounding areas in weeks now. Sheepshead should be in pretty thick. These will be around any style of structure. The snook will be inside the mangroves. Water temp in Bonita area is 61*.

This ^^^ I know several people who have homes down there and all said the inshore fishing is way off due to the red tide...

Contact Gulf Coast Kayak and schedule a kayak fishing trip. It’s a guided trip, cost is very reasonable. Not sure if Josh is guiding these days or not, ask for him first. They are on Matlacha. I’m not affiliated with them but have used them twice when I first moved here.
FYI, we just had 8 dolphins wash up dead in lee county over the past couple weeks. There is no info as of yet the cause of death. But, given the record from a month ago when 40 dolphins washed up dead, and the connection to red tide confirmed its a good chance it’s the same again. Also, a whale washed up dead in Everglades National Park.
