Excellent Fishing on the Offshore Trip!
Jumbo Porgies - Ling - Hake - Mackerel and even a Haddock

Next offshore trip sails 1AM Saturday January 26

Fishing was excellent on Saturday with many
Limits of Porgies, a few, ling, hake, mackerel, and even a Haddock.
The pool winners were:
Sammy Sin from Brooklyn NY with a 6lb Haddock,
Telmo Marques from Silver Spring MD with a 3.75LB Ling.
It looks good for upcoming trips. We read plenty of big schools of porgies around on the wrecks we fished.
The Jamaica is scheduled to sail to the offshore wrecks every Saturday in January and February leaving 1AM boarding is by midnight Friday night.
We also caught some Boston mackerel while we were fishing offshore wrecks but most passengers stuck with fishing the bottom.

This is the first I saw a haddock this far south.

Maybe start to see more cod and haddock with the Codfather bust. The guy had a huge commercial fishery taking every last fish just North of us.

Speaking of cod , since they closed gulf of Maine , does anyone know if they are rebuilding ? Any word that the fishing may reopen ?

i know we were catching triple headers on stellwagen last spring while haddock fishing, could not get away from the cod
