Hi all, I’m setting up new lead core trolling rigs with level wind reels. I want to use ball bearing swivels to avoid line twist between backing and lead core and lead core and leader. The problem I’m having is that even the size 0 spro ball bearing swivels won’t fit through the level wind.
Does anyone out there use a different solution or have an idea on a source of even smaller ball bearing swivels?

ditch the swivel and connect your leader like this.

If you are worried about line twist use a snap swivel at the business end of your leader.

If you need a swivel,Tsunami has come out with a line of barrel and ball bearing swivels that are worth looking at.

I would be careful using any size swivel. That swivel despite how small it is will most likely damage your rod guides and level wind reel.

That’s a neat trick!

Another trick I used was once led was removed I inserted mono using a small needle , pulled out near led core end the simply uni or nail knot leader to led core in place !

Does spro even make a size 0 swivel?

Guys thanks so much for all of the input! Once it warms up a bit to test these new trolling rigs out on RV or Monskville I will report back to the group! And thanks AndyS, I’ve been lurking for a few months but thought it was about time to post something!
