Well it's that time of year, when there's ice on the lakes but not enough to get out on.. and I'm getting the itch to make some casts. Long weekend coming up, and I was thinking about fishing the Delaware from the shore. I usually go just south of dingmans ferry, but the Delaware seems to be my kryptonite. I'm not looking for anyone's spot, just some advice on species I should target this time of year and tactics I should use? Thanks in advance for any advice!

River is gonna most likely be blown out with all this rain. As far as what to target there’s just about everything in the big d it’s just a matter of what do you want to catch.... this time year mostly Muskie, walleye, channel cats

Yeah, with all this rain, I don't think the river will be good for a few day. I may try after Christmas. Try to fish back water Eddie's and inside bends. Areas outside of the current and this time of year with the cooler water, usually deeper. Boat launch areas are a good first area to try;)

No expert on the Delaware, but I'd let a shiner under a slip float drift around the deeper eddies. Fun not knowing what you have when the float goes down.
