Very good fishing striped bass fishing, Wednesday. Caught them all on lures.
Some huge fish. A couple of bonus slot sized fish and even an 8lb blue fish was taken today.

Lure preference changes a lot. Good to have an assortment. Best lures this season so far have been 4 to 6 ounce shads, 5 to 7 ounce crocodile spoons and 4 to 6 ounce AVAs.

Red or green tailed 4 and 6 ounce AVAs worked best today. Just let your lure go to the bottom and crank fast enough to create action in the lure. Reel the lure from the bottom all the way back to the boat and repeat.

Pay close attention to the drag settings on your reel. We've lost a couple really big stripers due to guys trying to stop fish by tightening their drags too much. Just as important, do not set the drag too loose. If you're not sure, ask a deckhand to check it.

It doesn't look good for weather tomorrow, Friday (again).

If you plan to come out this weekend, be down extra early

Galley is open with hot food available
Cabin is heated

We have a good assortment of lures to sell if you need them

Hope to see you aboard

Thinking about going on the Gambler for one of these trips. However Can an angler opt to have his or her fish netted so they can release the fish to fight another day or do you only gaff?

i think if you let them know when you get on the boat thAT you want your fish netted that is should be no problem.
