Saturday22 and Sunday23 both have kept me and my charters at the dock. Both trips were for Mahi. Saturday was bad for and off shore trip and unsafe to try. But today the weather reports were not to fair to us. Some weather apps. had said it was going to be about a 2 ft seas and then later in the day it would go to 3 to 4. Others said 4 to 7 and that was the reason I had some concern. Then when I got to the dock this morning at 5:50 A.M. the wind was howling. Two other charter Captains had canceled their trips so I thought maybe the risk was to great so I cancelled also. Within and hour after I had cancelled the wind started to diminish and now their is hardly any wind at all. Not sure who to listen to but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry. I never want to have people come and have such a bad trip that they never call you again. This season has brought a lot of challenges. A lot of bad weather rain and wind. and the fish really have not cooperated either. Fluke season started late and then ended after the storm slow. Striper fishing is right around the corner and Sea Bass also. Then there is Black Fish. Foe a small fish one of the hardest fighters.I'm hoping to do well with all. With me just going fishing can make a good day. Captain Joe
