Anything happening on the night chunk yet? I am going out on the Gambler's 48 hour tuna trip next week and am hopeful that the night action is starting. My goal:

1st night - Bag a yellow or two

2nd night - concentrate on sword

They will also be targeting Tilefish. Not crazy about reeling up 800+ feet of line to check my bait.

It ain't that bad especially being as tiles are so tasty! They can save a slow trip!

I don't think the weather has allowed a lot of boats to fish recently but maybe some will get out over this weekend.
Looks like there may be a window Sat/Sun.
I'm on the 48 hr next week also.
Let's hope the weather cooperates and then see what we can do about putting fish in the boat.

Best of luck to you on that trip. You are going with one of the best party boats for tuna out there (only a few at best). Hard to tell about the chunk. They are not in that pattern yet, but could be by the end of next week. Good thing is that you are on a 48 hr. which would allow time to head down to the Baltimore, Washington, etc..if he will burn the fuel and if it warrants it! I did hear about some success south of the Washington (Norfolk Canyon).

Wish I could've given a report on the 17th 24hr but we didn't go. Looks like there are sites available on your & a couple trips after. Couldn't get on a 24 or your 48 due to work schedules. Didn't use to be that way(non sold out trips) in the beginning but now-a-days we have more early season "catchermen"...Yea, I know---I'm goin' to catch sh!t for that statement. It's how I feel...
Flygaff, sorry for the hi-jack...
Looking @ my log, about 90%+ trips @ this time of month produced...you gotta' think positive...

I'm 0-6 on tuna trips the last two years with weather...seems like every time I get a date its blowing 50mph out of the NE. Losing hope ill make it out this year, both charters boats I have deposits with are pretty much sold out for anything that would come open due to them rebooking. sucks.

I hope I can get out. The next 48 hr trip is sold out. I am on the waiting list but it does not look good. Anyone know of other boats that run this type of trip. I was also blown out 3 times last year.
