just got done cleaning up from the trip. i personally caught about 50 whiting including some jumbos. over a dozen ling a couple of squid and a few red fish. also caught a cusk that i gave to ice cream bill. no pollack for me, landed that is . i know i dropped a few. also caught a couple of short haddock and 2 nice keeper cod that had to go back.
the weather was a bit sporty in the morning but settled down as the day progressed. i'm sure we would have caught more in nicer conditions . i felt bad for the mates cleaning fish all day long and even after we docked. capt and crew did an excellent job. fishing close to three hundred feet of water! good spread of food. grilled burger at the end of the day hit the spot- thanks marc. good time was had by all. guys if you get a chance i would highly recommend doing one of these trips. thanks againg marc for all the leg work you do putting these trips together. until next time.

Great fishing with again Steve! Results were similar in the stern for me, though I must have been closer to the bottom, as I caught much more ling than whiting.
NJ Dave and Mr. AC 1980 did a beatdown on the whiting with Anthony’s huge fish taking the pool. I caught 2 nice pollack (had the pool before getting beat out by a huge cusk), 2 big squid, and a few redfish.
Fishing in 310 ft of water with 16oz lead all day was lots of fun. And ending the trip home with a Pepe’s white clam pizza in CT (as usual) was the best!

Thks Mark for a great trip again , I hadn't caught those size whiting since Imwas a kid , Loaded up as well by fishing hi and some jigging at couple drops way back to dock .
Several market cod , reds and pollock fell for my jig , luv that aspect of the trip .
Food n company excellent ,a buddy of mine from ME, and I fished a few days in Newport and worked our way North to Eastmens .
Toggling in Rhoddy is definitely heating up .
I got away with 16 oz in AM's sporty conditions but later had no trouble with 7oz jig .
Great service by mates and Capt , always there if required !

The only dogs Lou caught were a few cod that had to be returned. I fished next to him all day and tangled him a few times to many..... sorry Lou bit it was nice to meet you and fish with ya.
He did a number on some nice sized Whitting.

Nice trip. Was this on a 6 pack or party boat? I made my first trip up there on August 24 on a 6 pack and we had a great trip. I was just wondering how the party boats do.

How crowded was it and where there many tangles?

Not crowded at all. Only 26 anglers on 95' Lydia. Very few tangles as Capt. Phil had everyone spreadout. Mates were excellent and quick undoing the tangles that did occur. :)
