Anybody ever try fluking at 17 fathoms? Seems to be pretty good structure there, but I haven't seen anybody online fluking there. Is it too deep for fluke? I'd like some opinions before I go all the way out there. Trying to get a doormat.

17 x 6 = 102 kinda deep for Fluke

Was thinking that too, but I know guys in NY who get them in 90 feet of water. Maybe I'll just stick to 55'-75' like I've been doing.

I think you would catch a lot of conga eels, bergalls, and maybe Ling. They do catch fluke in 80 feet of water by the Verrazano bridge .

102' is not too deep for fluke as they are caught in the deep regularly during their migration. A few years back we were fishing wrecks in 90' of water for fluke when it was really good in late september (and the season was open!)
I've personally never fished 17 for fluke but it's worth a shot late in the season. That bottom is tricky out there and I'm not 100% sure it's real good fluke bottom, kinda like the farms, but you never know on the edges and fringes of the junk..
