Saturday evening, we had tough conditions. If we got too far off the beach we drifted too fast, but if we came in too close we didn’t move at all. We were reading mountains of fish, but we just couldn’t catch what we were seeing. It was a tough night, but everyone still kept busy pulling in a mix of throw-backs and keepers. We caught sea bass, ling, tommy cod, and some short fluke.
Yesterday afternoon was pretty tough out on the sea bass grounds. We read plenty of fish but they would not bite. Conditions could have been better, as we had little to no drift at all. However, the keepers we did catch were some really nice quality sea bass!
Today was pretty slow compared to the excellent fishing we’ve been having for the last few weeks. We caught some small blues on a couple of drifts this morning right off the beach. That didn’t last as we lost the tide, so we went out east to do some bottom fishing. We picked at the sea bass, along with a few fluke and ling.
Sailing daily for Stripers & Blues from 7:30 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. and every afternoon for Fluke & Sea Bass from 4:30 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. Join us as we bottom fish and mammal watch and then catch the most stunning sunset on the ride home. Bring your friends, family and children. This trip is fun for all ages and a must for everyone!
The Miss Belmar Princess is the largest, fastest and cleanest fishing boat in Belmar. With Miss Belmar’s 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day, and we guarantee it. No other boat comes close. Try us and you’ll see why!
The pool winner yesterday afternoon was Frank Arnone from Howell, NJ!
