How many of you have limited out on Fluke so far this year? And how many have not caught there limit so far? Also do you fish from shore..private boat..charter or party boat. So far I limited out just once and I fish on a private boat. I consider myself a descent fisherman but nowhere's near a sharpy. But I do have my days now and then. Thanks in advance!

im 4/6 on ocean trips limiting out (JUNE WAS A ROUGH MONTH), many of the trips i got over my limit, even on 1/2 day boats (either gave the fish away or sent them swimming)

In the Bay on foot, i yet to get skunked.

we've had many days that there were bite windows in the afternoon...in other words we'd have like 1 keeper and it'd be around 1pm fishing since 6am and then we limit out from 1-5pm I think i've caught my three fish limit plus on all trips this season except one or two and been out almost every weekend except a few since it opened. we really haven't had any trips with great numbers though, especially in comparison to a few years ago.

My first fluke trip of the season was the day after “opening day” where my son and I rented a skiff and fished the Navesink-I had 4 keepers (ORL) and he had 3
All my other fluke trips have been on the Misty Morn. My first trip was in extremely horrible conditions and got the skunk. However my next several trips I limited out (both on the day trips and shorter magic hour trips). My best day was catching 8 keeper size (again ORL).

My last few trips on the Misty I haven’t fared as well catching either one keeper or just shorts.

I will say that at this time last year on the Misty, I started using live snappers or peanuts and most trips had my limit before the end of the second drift. So that’s what I’ll be fishing from here on out .

Here we go again..........

LIMITS AND KEEPERS, that's what it is all about. That was not my only intention sir although the title does indicate that. I am mostly trying to get an idea of what kind of a Fluke season people are having so far and that includes size and numbers. I don't gauge my day or season by "Keepers". I am an angler and enjoy being on the water with friends and hopefully catching fish! Tight lines!

4 fluke trips so far and NO limits for either Sea Bass or Fluke....do not remember seeing many with limits either...NO fault of the Capt or his crew..

Same here, Did not even limit out on shorts(if keeper sized). But almost exclusively Bay fishing.

Right on Chrisper.... This fishery is all about location and the right conditions in that location for the correct presentation of your bait. There could be tons of fish in a spot but if the wind is pushing you against the tide or current your screwed.

A lot of it is not the arrow, it's the Indian....

The trick is to know where the fish are and fish that area when the conditions allow. Reading the conditions, using the boat to power drift or using a drift sock to overcome conditions is what separates the sharpies from the casual fishermen.... Staying out all day till you catch your limit also works :)

Been out 3 times in RB with my kayak. 1 keeper on first trip early in the season. 2 keepers on second trip and a limit on the third trip.
1 limit for 3 outings but never got skunked this season.
