The sandbar that is running all along Sandy Hook beach has made it tough surf fishing. I try at least once a week with nada. No bait fish in the wash isn't helping either. Gonna try again next week..

Might give ideal beach a try tonight after work. Prob wont be there till 8 or 9

Saturday - fished sandy hook "C" lot 6:00 am -9:00am
plenty of spearing and snappers in the wash. I was catching perfect bait sized snappers and then live lining them but to no avail. No fluke for me.

Sunday - kids went swimming and I fished the surf at Spring Lake 9:00- 1:00. No bait at all in the wash. Fished blood worms and sand fleas. Caught a huge kingfish that was really like 17 inches. Also caught a keeper 19" fluke on a sandflea.

Hit a brooklyn party boat last night. Stupid porgy fishing easy limit on a 5:00 - 10:00 trip.

Caught and released a small fluke Monday evening on an Ava A17, caught, tagged and released 3 small fluke on sand eels Tuesday evening and caught nothing Wednesday evening with Canadian spearing on the Manasquan Inlet north jetty. Saw lots of snappers, osprey, egrets, gulls, terns, shorebirds, surfers, boats, anglers, and spear fishermen. The US Marines were there yesterday. The municipal parking lot was empty all 3 evenings.

Gonna give the North Beach/Sandy Hook a try on Monday....snappers would work just fine for now...bigger fish a coming!!!!??? See ya all later, RAMMIE
