This past Wed. July 4th. I did my last partner trip with one of the best fisherman I have ever met. He is 84 years young and I am not sure how long he is fishing but I am sure it is over 50 years. He has more knowledge where the fish are than any other person I have met. He knows where to go for any kind of fish and can tell you what we will find when we get there. Varieties and size and what to expect when we get on the spot so we are prepared and ready once we get there. He is amazing. He has catered to his customers with the patients of a saint. Just to give you a feel for the kind of fishing he does. We took 6 people out last Wed. and they brought 5 coolers and I said why are you bringing all those coolers if you are all together? Tommy said let them take them. Good thing we did because by 11:00 AM they were full and we were out of cooler room. It was my pleasure and thanks for teaching me as much as you did. Captain Joe

The last trip is never easy but we are grateful for the years of friendship and time together on the water. I had my last trip also with my Dad this year due to his failing health he can no longer do it. I knew this day was coming as I saw him slow down a lot over the last few years and the last trip we took he told me he was done. We fished together for close to 30 years all over the LI..Conn and NJ area through all kinds of weather and fishing conditions. In his day he was strong like a bull. Some days we caught..some days we didn't but that really didn't matter. So now I will bring him home fresh fish which he still like to clean himself and talk of trips gone by. Nothing last's forever so be grateful while it's still there. All of our "last Trips" eventually come so make the best of every one. Tight lines!
