Went out yesterday on an open boat fluke trip with my big brother, we headed north and hit the popular rocky bottom areas.. from 7:30-11am we had barely any fluke action, with little to jumbo seabass devastating our gulp stocks... then we finally got some good current that pushed us over patches of quality fluke.. my brother and I accounted for 9 keepers, only keeping limit, with all fish in the 3-5lb range.. the bite was very strange they almost hit like seabass but then when committed to the Baird hit like a ton of bricks. We used 1-1/2 oz jigs with pink gulp with a single squid strip out performing everything else... we lost some real big fish that shaker off half way up, but all in all.. great day.
