But What was Best??????
Canyon Runner Took 10 More Military Vets Out in 2 Separate Tournaments......
Manhattan Cup Striper Tournament
Warriors 4 Warriors Shark Tournament

A big thanks to the folks at Hi-Seas & Momoi as we've been going through a ton of their stuff as we battle through these big fish - more big fish have come to the decks of the Canyon Runner in the past 3 weeks than we've seen at any other time we've fished the canyons. Could be done without all our sponsors but wanted to give a shout out to Hi-Seas on this one.

As for the reports - where to start? With 20 Overnighters already in the books and a couple hundred tunas on the deck, plus 10 makos (most released), 10 Big-eyes and multiple Giant Tuna (released) we’ve been too busy to report so we’ll just stick with last week………….
Again - others may argue but the best thing we did this week was take 10 more military folks out for free. We donated one of the Canyon Runner boats to the Manhattan Cup Striper Tournament and Capt. Greg Ryback took out 3 Vets for the day on Friday. On Saturday we donated the 60' Ritchie to the Warriors 4 Warriors Shark Tournament and took out 7 more Vets - Capts. Phil and Crag Angelini took those folks - didn't win either tournament but who cares got these guys out fishing.

As for the reports - well this past week each of the CR boats got 3 overngihters in and we caught well on each one. And in fact it's hard to determine what was the best trip. Capts. Phil Dulanie, Charlie Vanderbeck and Greg Ryback finished the week with a 5/7 effort on a wolfpack of big-eyes with the John Mendes charter. Capts. Deane Lambros and Mike Kelly started the week with perhaps one of the best canyon trips ever - 2 giant bluefin of 500# and 400#, a big-eye of around 140# and 10 yellowfin for the Peter Wilcox group. In between Capt. Charlie nailed a 403# mako with the Mike Earle charter. Honorable mention just might go to the first trip that started this streak on the 60' Ritchie with the Mike Kuzak charter - they had 3 bluefins from 125-150 pounds, 4 yellowfin, some smaller bluefins and 3 makos at night - all of which were 125-175 pounds. All of which had to be released.
We were following a sharp water temp break from the South Toms Canyon all the way down to the Baltimore by Sunday afternoon. The entire time picking away at yellowfins, bluefins, and multiple big-eyes and mako. Just all out outstanding fishing for any time of the year - but very nice to get these great trips in so early.

These trips start at $799 for open boat spots on the 48' Viking and $4,995 for the full boat.
