Decided to pass on the fluke fishing and take advantage of the seabass season so we headed out to the reef. It def wasn't lights out fishing but it was a fairly consistent pick of fish the whole time pretty much with keepers coming up in little bursts. The jig was much more effective than the bait rig all day not even a comparison...jig had 76 seabass with 17 keepers and bait rig had about 30 fish with 3 keepers. John did have a monsterous ling on the bait rig though that was a nice bonus.

all in all a real good day bottom fishing. size wasn't great as many of the keepers were between 12.5-13.5" and no huge ones but we had a handful of 14-16" fish (all on the jig :D) a boat limit is a boat limit!

Excellent haul. Some great eating, there!

they are delicious, right behind tog in my book locally as far as taste.

gotta say though as long as i can target them with a jig and use light gear, the fight aint half bad on the keeper sized ones!
