Been fishing the same stretch of river for the past 10 days. Have gotten a dozen or so bluefish in the #2-5 class and one striper that was borderline keeper.

Arrived today to the last few hours of the ebb and beached two more cocktail blues. Both coming on a SP minnow (which has taken all the fish I’ve caught here-but I have seen fish also caught on smaller metals). Once the tide went slack, took a drive over to see what if anything was going on at the inlet. Didn’t see anyone fishing so returned to my original spot to fish the first of the incoming. Decided to put on a jig with a soft plastic and on my second cast was rewarded with a soon to be in season fluke-which measured out to be just barely keeper size. After a quick picture it was released. I’ve seen several other fluke up to 24”s caught in this stretch the past few days, some on Storm Shad type baits.
