left the dock at 7:30 yesterday and headed to the grounds.we anchored up
around 8:30 and it was game on till we left at 2:30pm.they were stacked up
and waiting for the jigs.first cast and my line goes slack 20ft or so from the bottom.i start reeling and come tight on a nice knuckle head that grabbed the jig on the way down.it was cast and catch for about an hour then slowed to a good steady pick.capt decides that its to slow so we make a 25 minute move.anchors
come tight and its game on again.at first its all 8 to 11 inch fish but after a little while the keepers show up.these sea bass were all good ones with no measurement required.we fished that spot till the bite slowed and headed to our last spot.we anchor up and again its non stop catching.everyone had there limit
of nice fish.it turned out to be a great weather day also.

Nice! Gotta love when the attack the jigs. I find that the jigs also produce bigger fish for the most part.

Great job!

What type of jig did you use? I’ve been successful with A-27’s in the past. Just wondering.

Thanks!

plain ava-27.some were using a teaser above the jig but seemed like allot more
shorts than keepers.flip out let the jig hit the bottom then a slow steady retrieve for 20- 25ft and then drop back down.check the jig every now and then to make sure the eyelets are not bent as that will alter the movement of the jig.also make sure the hook is sharp as you will be bumping bottom or high pieces
from time to time.

Try Shimano flat sided jigs next time. 2 small stinger hooks on the top, hit the bottom and pop pop about 2-3 feet up and repeat... pop pop.
