Hopped aboard sponsor Evening Tide this afternoon to cash in on the Raritan Bay Striper bite. Captain Kyle has been fishing these waters for 20+ years on his awesome Parker Pilothouse. His uncanny ability to find the right fish at the right time is impressive. And just like the name of the vessel implies - we hit 'em well during the 'evening tide'.
The grounds are just minutes from his berth in Raritan Marina - the short run home after a long day of trolling, chunking and tossing shads was a relief. Today's full moon tides and winds were challenging but the Parker rode it out perfectly. Although the bite was not as hot as what Captain Kyle has recently experienced, we all went home with sore arms, full filet bags and smiles.
With water temps still hovering around 50* and the migration to our grounds still in the early stages, Striper fishing in the Bay should continue for many more weeks.
