Hello everybody, new poster here. Gonna try and report everytime I go this year so here goes. After having decent Striper fishing and a Flounder skunk on a windy St Patty's wknd, I went back down to Waretown. Walked the bank for bass Sat am for about an hour got nothing. Went back out with the boat later and got 5 Flounder and 2 Bass. Weather was nice water temp 50. Used homemade chum, clams, mussels, garden and blood worms all the flatties were caught on mussels. Had alot of bites but they were super finicky, if I held the pole or bounced my rig they were gone. The fish I filleted had tiny clams in their bellies.

Nice report, thanks.. Mussels are far and away the best flounder bait available, and much cheaper than worms, yet a lot of guys insist on buying sea worms.
.. I am impressed with the 50 degree water temp.. thats getting into prime time for winter flounder as far as temps.. bob

Thanks for making me welcome here. Looking forward to sharing info. The area I fished has warmer water temp year round. I like to bring a variety of bait when fishing for Flounder. The mussels were what they wanted on Saturday for sure.

Oyster creek outflow...... man i gotta try that one day.

Pretty sure the rest of NJ water is hovering around 40-42.....

Better do the oyster creek outflow soon, the plant is shutting down this year...forever.

Good report... I've had similar results from the same area the last 2 weeks. With the amount of bunker around I decided to chunk last Sunday and picked 30" bass that I invited home for dinner... Fish had sea lice so they r on the move.
