David's post peaked my interest so I've been doing some reading on this slow pitch stuff and it's very interesting. A lot less work then the traditional jigging since you're using specific jigs and lightweight rods so not as fatiguing as traditional jigging, yet highly effective.

Works for me since at my age I'm all about less work :D

If you go Steve, let me know. I just bought 2 slow pitch rods at the saltwater show in Edison. Super light and really strong. And 2 new reels of course...😬. Wife doesn’t know yet. Lol

Sounds very interesting. Could this method be used on fluke as well ?

Gerry,
I have been slow pitch jigging for sea bass and striped bass for several years and just got in some slow pitch jigs from Japan that I think the fluke will crush.

I had marked it in my calander when I first saw your post and was excited to stop by no listen to seminar. Unfortutely I am suffering from Blackfish Fever and the call of Big Blackfish in Va will keep me away. If trip gets blown out I will be there

Dave A,

which jigs did you go with if you don't mind me asking? I was researching the same idea but still haven't decided which jigs to go with- was thinking some of the 40g micro jigs?
