One out of Bakers too?
Do Kayakers have to paddle all the way down river from Raritan Bay to Bakers for weigh ins?

Hi Capt Frank. The Striper Challenge and the Fluke Challenge will be held out of Bakers Marina in the Highlands.
The Kayak division will be ran by length NOT weight. (Rules are outlined on our website www.TripleChallenge.org) All kayakers will submit their fish via the tournament app using a tournament supplied measuring device, while in their kayak with their entry flag in the pic.
All items will be given out at the captains meeting the Thursday prior to the tournament.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Wow $5000 guaranteed pay out
A few questions on the Striper Challenge.
Saw it said this is a team tournament not a boat tournament and teams have UNLIMITED anglers but are limited to 6 lines in the water. Does this mean the 6 lines in the water could be on different boats?
Awards dinner at the Tiki Bar which Tiki bar and where are the weigh ins?

Might as well cancel the Mako tournament. Effective today Mako size just went to 83". How in the hell are you supposed to measure a live make that you think miiiight be somehwere in that size range? You know if its 2" short theyll be waiting to whack the hell out of you with fines. They have essentially made it no kill.

Does the new size requirement affect the commercial fishery as well or it is just for the recreational fishermen?

Guys thanks for the questions! This a team tourney but all team members must be on the same boat. We do have a strict 6 rods max in water rule, but this allows a group of say 6 guys to hire a charter boat, Captain and mate to fish the tournament's.
Ladies and JR divisions will be included with entry in the main tournament prizes will be awarded and they will be announced as we get closer to the tournaments. JR anglers must be 16 and under. Lady Anglers, well I'm sure we all get that one.
As far as the after party and awards presentation goes it will be held at the Seafarer Bar (at Bakers Marina) in the Highlands. Barkers is also the weigh station for both the Striper Challenge as well as the Fluke Challenge. The Shark Challenge is being held at Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor. The After Party and Awards will be held during Shark Fest after the tournament.
Guys Shark Challenge 9 on June 29th and 30th is a THRESHER Tournament! We will have a Mako Calcutta available it will also have a Blue Shark! As well as Thresher Calcuttas. But the $10k Guarantee is for the Heaviest THRESHER weighed in!
Guys website is updated often. Keep an eye for more exciting announcements. www.TripleChallenge.org
We will be at booth #6 at the Saltwater fishing Expo in Edison March 16-18 stop by, talk fishing, ask some questions and get signed up!

Also want to address the the Guarantee Minimum payouts for each Challenge in the Tournanent Series... These are not fluffed numbers based on a billion and one boats being entered. This is a FIRST PLACE GUARANTEE Regardless of the number of boats entered. If anything this number will increase!

Not trying to be a wiseguy here, but if you don't get enough boats to MAKE that $10000 "guaranteed prize" how are you going to be able to make that guaranteed payout?
Again, just asking. I've fished countless tournaments and haven't seen anything like this, especially with a new tournament. Good luck!

Blue Sharks will have a minimum size on them. We are not looking to have an unrelistic number weighed in. But it will be obtainable by both large and small boats. Even though blue sharks are edible they need to be gutted and ice immediatly! That would be hard since we will be weighing them in so we have made arrangements to have have them grinded for chum for future shark trips. This is a practice used by other tournaments with blue shark payouts. We will not being dumping any sharks if anglers dont want their mako or threshers they can be donated to the event and will in turn be donated to a local food bank or prepared and served at the After party!

All 3 triple challenges advertised first place prizes are guaranteed. This is done through sponsorships and monies obtained through other events by Shark Sense (501c3) and @ The Harbor Events. We see most tournaments advertise a nice payday but use inflated numbers to post those payouts and when push comes to shove payouts are far less. Never understood why if a tournamentnever had more then say 100 boats why would they use 300 boats to base their payouts! Well not with any of the 3 Triple Challenge Tournaments, our listed payouts are the Lowest they can be! If anything, (with a nice turnout) payouts will be higher, possibly much higher!
In short we are putting our money where are mouths are! Lol

Great time at the Expo. Long days but got to see many people I have not seen in years and met many new ones. Expo was very crowded with minimal slow downs. The new venue seems to work very well. Roomier feeling then Somerset.
Look forward to next year's Expo, but now it's time to Fish!
