Three local guys managed to rescue some shockingly big stripers from Little Silver Lake in Point Pleasant Beach. The video is worth a look.

Check out their IG stuff @spader_creative and @cschlegy.

I saw this on Instagram, Joe Spader who lived on the lake was stocking it with stripers since the 70s and was a friend of my grandfather. I use to fish the “spader lake” during the summer or when surf conditions were crap with bunker chunks or bombers and catch tons of 10-20lb bass, of course released. It was a tremendous amount of fun especially when I was 12-15 years old when I would just ride my bike over. A few years ago I had a group of friends down and none of them knew much about fishing, so I brought them there and set them up with fluke tackle and chunks and we caught 23 fish in 2 hours. such a well kept secret which I am thankful didn’t get out until now. Believe it or not there were some hefty fluke in this body of water which I assume were stocked or were brought in through the connecting pipe to nibblick pond. Really happy to see these fish saved.

Who drained the lake and why? Those are the ones who should have been responsible for what those fellas did so well.
