Hi all,
the Saltwater Anglers will be holding our annual flea-market, Sunday February 11th at the Hasbrouck Heights VFW, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604.
We have a great mix of vendors lined up. Plug/lure makers, Jig makers, Rod builders, reel and assorted gear sales, and we have the private guys looking to lighten their overcrowded garages and basements..
we will be having 2 raffles and door prizes. There will be some food, drinks, hot coffee, and other snacks and refreshments available.. so come on out, check it out, its going to be really good show..Its the only fishing fleamarket in North Jersey..
Oh by the way, we do have a couple of tables available if you are interested in being a vendor, $25.00 for the first table, $20.00 after the first. Contact Craig Zincavage if interested..zincman70@yahoo.com 973-234-9618
Thanks everyone for your support

I thought people would put Hasbrouck Heights VFW into their GPS.. That's what I did and found it no problem. But here is the address too.

Could not make today's as my dad fell on the ice last night and spent time in the emergency room. Just a concussion, but when your 95 it doesn't take much. We will make your flee market tomorrow Craig.

This place was a packed house early in the AM
Still amazed people paid $5 to enter a flea market but hey, good fund raiser for the club.
Over all there was a lot of used old junk, old Penn reels that needed a lot of tlc, custom rods, factory rods, t shirts, and as always the guy with that amazing mop that can lift a gallon of water in a single pass, and a guy selling fluke jigs made out of tampons..... yes you read that right, tampons. And the kicker he was getting $7 bucks each and they were near being sold out by the end of the day. Funny stuff.
I picked up some 1 oz and 2 oz Blackwater football blackfish jigs for the kayak for 1.50 and 2.00 which seemed of good quality.
I also bought 2 FLR hand carved plugs which were of real nice craftmanship.
Got some big shad from KTS.
A few teasers for a buck each.
A decal from Nutley Signs
Got a 50 pack of Mustad 6/0 buckail hooks for 3 bucks.
A cold beer for 4 bucks and a free bowl of chicken soup at the bar.
And ran into a few friends.
Overall a nice small she to pass the winter doldrums.

Lol that Guy with the "tampon" rigs as you called them, sold 400 of the rigs he brought there plus he made 40 more to sell when he was sitting there.. It seems they catch fish by the pictures he had on the table (good for him)... I feel a flea market should be mix of "old JUNK' and commercial vendors..I think we had a nice mix of both. A true flea market is nothing but peoples old junk..You say you cant believe people pay 5 bucks to get into a flea Market? most, if not all organizations charge a fee to get in, and normally its four or five bucks. Is there something I'm missing about this? Basicly where the club makes any money at all is through the gate, were not talking a lot of money here its a few bucks to help support the club. Thanks for your critique..Dont think Im catching feelings, It was my first time running a flea market and it for the most part was a success but there is always room for improvement..

Craig, you did a great job running the show. I think you had a good showing of people there. Jeff and I saw quite a few familiar faces there that we have fished with. I was glad to see a mix of new and used equipment. We picked up some new equipment (mostly fluking stuff) as that is our passion but also some Tog stuff at reasonable prices. :)

I didn't think you were knocking us. It was a fair assessment of what you saw. Like I said I appreciate the feedback.
