Didn’t have high expectations given the recent reports but it is a tradition for us so me, Joe, Art and Sven headed off to the Blackfish grounds... Anchoring conditions we OK first thing in the morning, bite was very picky but if you waited them out you’d get a decent thump every now and then. Eventually the wind dropped out, the current slacked off and so did the fishing.
Tried a move or 2 to no avail spoke to several other boats who were also struggling so we decided to go back to where we had them in the AM but someone was on it already...Made one last drop and had a flurry of action once the wind picked up but by then it was time to call it quits.
Ended up with 13 fish and had a least as many throw backs, Joey had the biggest @ 8 lbs. Not a bad day but certainly not what we’re used to.
