Rock Bottom Thursday blackfish opener to 14LBS!

Definitely wasn’t a banner blackfish opener but still had a decent day. Had Mari, Hunter Schlegel and his dad, James, Dave and Tom from KTS jigs. Had good life and keepers as soon as we stopped but that was short lived after we boxed up 8. After that we had flurries of fish with mostly shorts and a keeper or 2 mixed in. Lots of life but it was an off bite and the crappy conditions didn’t help either, never was able to sit tight on both anchors all day. Huge congrats to James with his new PB blackfish at 14.8lbs which definitely helped make up for the slow day! It’s always nice to see a slob come over the side. Jigs did very well today although the jumbo was caught on a plain ol rig. Ended the day with 29 keepers, tons of shorts and missed fish, a few seabass and some small Porgies & seabass.
