NJ Freshwater Fishing Guides
|
Freshwater fishing is one of the favorite pass times in our state and there are plenty of places and opportunities to
wet a line. The season usually begins in early spring with opening day of the Trout season and ends in the fall. The
NJDEP does a great job stocking the more popular streams, rivers and lakes with thousands Trout each spring and
fall.
There are also an abundance of lakes, streams and rivers where fish are naturally present. Large and Smallmouth
Bass, Pickerel and assorted Panfish are some of the more popular species and there are some areas where Musky and
Pike are targeted as well.
You do need to purchase a freshwater license to fish in NJ unless you are 16 or under or 70 and older and there are
some seasonal closures so make sure and check the regulations.
